Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling in Bath and Bristol for Individuals and Couples. Low cost Supervision in Bath and Bristol. UKCP Registered
Do you feel sometimes that you are going round in circles? It can be a struggle to make sense of painful experiences and find joy and meaning in life. I can offer a safe space for you to explore difficult feelings with a genuine willingness to be there for you.
My name is Michelle Oakman. I am an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor working with individuals and couples in North Bath and Central Bristol. I have long term experience of working with a wide range of concerns including childhood and adult abuse , depression, addiction and struggles with self identity.
Short term psychotherapy or counselling will help you start to address specific issues and point you in the right direction.
Long term psychotherapy will enable you to go deeper. In having more understanding and containment of emotional problems, there is an opportunity to grow and feel an enhanced sense of wellbeing. As an integrative therapist and counsellor, I have a variety of approaches that can support you to reach a clearer sense of how you want to move forward.
If you decided to see me for an initial session we would, at your own pace, look at what you feel has been holding you back or troubling you.
Sometimes it is difficult to know, beyond a sense of unease, what exactly the problem is, but often just expressing the frustration of confusion or
ambivalence can help. You may wish to go away and think about what has come up for you or, if you wanted to start sessions, a regular time of the
week would be agreed between us.
My fee for a 50 minute session for individuals is £45 and £40 for students and trainees. I offer some lower cost sessions before 6pm.
My fee for couples is £60 for an hour or £80 for 90 minutes. I can also, on request, offer a reduced rate for a fixed number of sessions or those before 6pm.
I have had my integrative counselling and psychotherapy practice in Fairfield Park, North Bath since 2004.
I started my work as a couples counsellor there in 2012. I started my Couples Counselling and counselling and therapy with individuals in Bristol in June 2016.
I am currently doing a supervision training with CTSD (Centre for Supervision and Team Development Bath) and offer low cost supervision
to trainee and qualified psychotherapists and counsellors. I also offer low cost supervision to individuals and groups working in person centred
agencies and charities.
I am 15/20 minutes walking distance from Milsom Street and the London Road. The number 6 and 7 bus from Bath city centre stops nearby. I am also 20 minutes drive from the Kingswood side of Bristol and 10 minutes drive from the A46 in Bath. There is plenty of free parking on the road by my counselling and therapy practice.
My Bristol practice is based at St.Paul's Learning Centre. This is a 10/15 minute walk from Easton and St.Werburgh's. Also easily accessible
from The Gloucester Road, Ashley Down and The M32. A free parking space can be made available. There is wheelchair access.
